Congratulations to Dee Elliot of Mineral Wells, Texas, for winning our top Grand Prize spot in the BirdSpotter Photo Contest! Dee took this photo (above) of a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher at the perfect moment as it snatched up a grasshopper. She also won People’s Choice in the “Eyewitness” category.

Our second-place winner was Linda Petersen of Terril, Iowa. She also won the Judges’ choice in our “Bold, Bright, and Beautiful” category this year with this photo of a Baltimore Oriole.

Our third-place winner was Laura Frazier of Middlebury, West Virginia. She was also a winner in our “Bold, Bright, and Beautiful” category. Her photo of the Indigo Bunting singing from its perch on a sunflower captured the popular vote.
